[attr="class","rostercat2"]Barbara Gordon is the adopted daughter of James Gordon, Commissioner of the GCPD. Growing up, she displayed a brilliant intellect and a steadfast moral character, as well as a strong belief in the law and the need to uphold it. When she was a young woman, Barbara attended Gotham Academy where she shared social circles with Dick Grayson. In her mid-teens, Barbara took up the mantel of Batgirl. Though initially unaffiliated with, and unapproved by Batman, she eventually earned his trust and faith. Barbara was trained by Batman, alongside Robin, both of whom revealed their secret identities to her. When she was eighteen, Batgirl joined the Team and operated as one of its members when not protecting Gotham, associating and creating relationships with other young super heroes. Batgirl occupied various levels of leadership within the Team throughout several missions. She was instrumental in the missions leading up to and during the Reach's attempted invasion of the earth. With the League absent, Batgirl and the Team managed to save their planet, but not without cost: the life of Kid Flash. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY	[attr="class","rostercat2"]Bruce had offered for her to take the Bat-wing. That was the biggest indicator to Barbara that there was something wrong with her mentor. She was the most trustworthy of Batman's wards, true, and she was the most skilled at piloting - don't let Dick tell you any differently - but that still sent off a red flag in Batgirl's mind. She was en route to Bludhaven, which was less than an hour's drive for the average person, and under a half-hour on a Bat-bike. Taking the Bat-wing would've made the trip a matter of minutes, true, but Barbara knew that - tactically speaking - it was unnecessary. Batman never did something that was unnecessary. Unless something was wrong. Hence, Batgirl spent the whole ride - politely turning down the airborne offer, and opting for her trusty bike - contemplating. The answer was fairly obvious. Bruce could shroud himself in mystery all he liked, but he truly didn't know how well Dick, Tim, and herself could read him. With Artemis's... With what had happened to Artemis, all of the more adult heroes were being more cautious concerning their apprentices. Batgirl knew everything that Dick did about the night's op - or, at least, how much had been entered into the Batcomputer. So, Barbara knew that Nightwing was fully capable of handling matters himself. Bludhaven was Dick's territory. Batgirl only ever made appearances there if he was stretched too thin, or there was dire necessity. Again: this was all so unnecessary. Bruce had been given the loophole of sending in backup purely on the grounds that the drug cartel had ties in Gotham. Barbara wondered, had that not been the case, would he have come up with some other reason to send her? Batgirl dismissed her thought process, or, more accurately, put it on hold. She wove through traffic, and cut over at the last possible moment onto an off-ramp that took her into the slums of Bludhaven. Of course, one could argue that every inch of Bludhaven was the 'slums'. Batgirl was fairly stealthy, considering. Upon coming within the city's limits, she activated the anonymous feature on the Bat-bike which effectively turned all of the incriminating yellow bat symbols peppering it's design black. Her head was concealed beneath an unassuming helmet, leaving only her bolt of scarlet hair fluttering in the wind behind her. Barbara parked twelve blocks away from where Nightwing said the meeting was occurring, in an alley behind a butcher shop. Batgirl left her helmet poised on the seat, and as she disappeared onto the rooftops, all defensive protocols began running automatically. The bike - helmet and all - emitted an energy field that rendered it almost entirely invisible while also protecting it outright. After that, Barbara moved with secretive purpose across the rooftops, without sound or trace. That was why Batgirl seemed to simply materialize behind Dick as he crouched above the transfer. Barbara knew he most likely heard her land, silent though the act was, but she gently brushed his elbow regardless to let him know that she was present. Barbara edged forward until she was crouched alongside Dick. Batgirl had thought about approaching from another angle to offer more coverage, but none offered enough cover.
