[attr="class","rostercat2"]Tamaran's Princess Koriand'r was the second of three children. Her older sister, Komand'r was the next in the line of succession, but she was crippled by a childhood illness that robbed her of her natural Tamareanean ability to convert ultraviolet light in to flight energy, so she was deemed not worthy to be queen and the succession fell to Koriand'r. When both sisters were sent to train with the legendary Warlords of Okaara, the bitter Komand'r ran off, allying herself with the 'Citadel'. They used Komand'r's information to successfully invade the planet Tamaran and King Myand'r turned Koriand'r over to the Citadel to ensure peace. Koriand'r endured six years of torture, and nearly her own exectution, until she and Komand'r were both released for experimentation by the Psions. The Psions, who are largely sadistic scientists, performed a deadly experiment on both of the sisters to see just how much energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. During the procedure, Komand'r's forces attacked the Psion ship to rescue her and while the Psions were distracted, Kory broke free utilising her starbolts - destructive blasts of solar energy, a result of their experimentation. Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. However, far from grateful, Komand'r struck her sister down with the same blasts of energy Koriand'r had discovered she could control. She had her restrained for later execution. Koriand'r, however, managed to escape and found her way to Earth. There, she met and was taken in by the Dick Grayson - from whom she learned the English language. Unable to return home, and concerned that her sister might still be hunting for her, Koriand'r decided to make a new life for herself on Earth. With various connections throughout the hero community, Grayson was able to find her an apartment, and working as a model in her free time, Kory now aids both the Justice League and 'The Team' whenever they require her aid. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]HISTORY	[attr="class","rostercat2"]She skimmed over the water's surface, angling her body and banking sharply, narrowly avoiding a blast of crimson energy that had been aimed at her shoulder. It hit the ocean's surface, causing steam to spit and rise - a harsh contrast to the gentle swaying of the waves that lapped at the docks. Glancing upward, the Tamaranean noted that the robot – humanoid in its basic shape – pursued her with intent, and she increased her speed, her hair alight behind her, leaving a fiery contrail in her wake. Further shots followed, peppering the moored boats and leaving burning craters in their hulls as she weaved between them, activating her communicator as she did so. “I am assuming that your negotions have taken a turn for the worst?” she asked plainly, before, with a practised arch of her back, the bronzed-alien shot skyward, rapidly altering her flight path. The negotiations she referred to were taking place between members of 'The Team' and a Gotham kingpin – someone who'd purchased a great deal of illegal battlefield technology from a branch of LuthorCorp. Unable to link it directly back to Alexander Luthor himself – the company's CEO - Grayson had decided that, rather than simply dismantle the criminal operation outright, offer them a choice. Give up what they knew and face a less thorough beating or...well. Apparently the other option saw the activation of killer robots. Indeed, the sound of plasma fire through their joint communication array suggested that Starfire wasn't the only one dealing with mechanical adversaries. Pushing herself to continue her ascent, Koriand'r glanced back again to check the machine still followed her – and on ascertaining that it did, she let it gain on her before she plummeted – instantly ceasing her channeling of stored ambient sunlight, letting gravity take hold. She dropped like a stone, her alien form slightly heavier than that of a human's, and the robot wasn't ready for such an unexpected change of direction. Trying to slow and adjust its position gave Kory all the time she needed, extending a hand and casting forth a brilliant orb of bright emerald energy – a starbolt. Her attack hit her opponent square in its chest, blowing a crater into its form; wires sparking as it very quickly became little more than scrap metal. Her foe vanquished, the Tamaranean took flight once more, stopping her fall mid-way as the robot plunged into the harbour's waves, shooting toward the warehous 'The Team' had vanished into some time previous. She was their back up, and by the sounds of things, her presence was required. [attr="class","rostercatsub2"]WRITING SAMPLE
